Leitner-Poma designs systems to facilitate pedestrian traffic along flat or inclined slopes with capacities from 100 - 500 passengers per hour. They have open or totally enclosed vehicles with grips that are fixed to the haul rope.

Sky Trail, California

Pulsed gondolas have trains with one, two or three carrier vehicles per train, and up to six trains that are evenly spaced along the rope. The entire system slows for loading and unloading when the vehicles are in the terminals. The vehicles have options for heat and communication. Pulsed gondolas are generally used for distances less than 3,000 ft.
