Skiers love speed and Leitner-Poma has consistently been the leader in high speed aeriallifts. Resort owners and operators will benefit from happy customers, low maintenance costs and maximum reliability.
Consider these facts:
- When the Green Mountain Express was installed in 1990 at Sugarbush, Vermont, it was the first chairlift anywhere to operate at 1100 feet per minute.
- The Stowe eight-passenger gondola, installed in 1991, was the first gondola anywhere to operate at 1200 feet per minute.
- Leitner-Poma has over 45 chairlifts in North America which move 1100 feet per minute as well as 6 gondolas and 3 chairlifts which move at 1200 feet per minute!

Sheer Bliss, Colorado 800 horsepower AC Drive terminal
We designed the T grip to go considerably faster than the 1000 feet per minute which was the "new standard" in the early 1980's. This "single position" grip has a very low impact at the open/close function. The "over center" grips have a much higher impact which increases greatly with speed.
Leitner-Poma uses rubber bushed sheave trains to decrease maintenance and overall vibration, while providing your skiers with a faster and noticeably smoother ride.
We have now supplied over 100 lifts with rubber bushed sheave trains (including 18 gondola sections) since our initial set in1988 at Breckenridge, Colorado.
