Leitner and Poma merge operations in North America
September 2001

In the Spring of 2000 Michel Seeber, owner of LEITNER, purchased POMA and in his words, "It is clear that it is better to develop as a unit rather than individually in such markets where our partnership gives us a better position with respect to the competition." Continuing with this philosophy, LEITNER and POMA have announced that they have merged their operations in North America. The Canadian group of POMA CANADA and LEITNER LIFTS, LTD. are combined to become LEITNER-POMA CANADA, LTD. Janek Kepka becomes President and Bruno Mansberger becomes GM of the new service, spare parts and sales facility in Ontario. Pat Boyle becomes GM of the Kelowna office and western Canada. POMA OF AMERICA in Grand Jct., CO. becomes responsible for operations including engineering, manufacturing and sales.

Rick Spear, Director of Sales quotes, "The message from our clients is clear; they want quality, safety, reliability and customer comfort at the best possible price. This re-organization allows our group to devote even more resources to these client demands while also increasing our efforts in after sales service. These are exciting times in our industry. Two world class technologies, Leitner and Poma, are putting their muscle together to offer one high quality and extremely competitive product for the opening of the 2002 ski season."
